A Positive Path (exercise 1)

My Positive Path

Find a path or road you walk every day (or at least almost every day).
Preferably somewhere you can walk as uninterrupted as possible - and the longer the path/road, the better.

Make this path your 'Positive Path'

What's important about this exercise is not whether or not you are able to feel completely positive, happy and free - what is important is that this path is your sacred place, where you won't allow any negativity to come to you.

To start with, just practice being in the now, this will help you avoid negativity. Look at the trees, or whatever nearby that makes you peaceful.
With time, start thinking positive thoughts and/or feel positive feelings. Think of a person (or pet) you love. Think of the goals you have reached so far. Think thoughts that make you happy.

If it is a long path, start making a small part of it your 'Positive Path'
With time, when it is easy to feel positive at this part, make it a little bit longer, then a little bit longer... and so on.

Some days may be less happy than others, these days it is okay to only use the first part of your 'Positive Path', but try to make it a goal to keep making your 'Positive Path' longer and longer.

Where you normally work with an exercise every day for 1-3 weeks and then move on to the next exercise... try to work with this exercise every day for the rest of your life... but at least work intensely with it every day for 1-3 weeks and then hereafter as often as possible.
